Last week I went to see Mirror, Mirror. I was really excited about doing one of my favorite stuff ever: buying a delicious McDonald’s meal to enjoy while watching the movie on one of those huge seats in those new VIP rooms. It takes a really terrible movie to ruin a day like this. Because this is such a pleasant activity, the room is so comfortable and the junk food, well, I’m always up to it!
My expectations weren’t very high. I knew it would be light-hearted. And I was dying to see Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen. And it was totally worth it! A fairy tale-like film, but filled with modern hints. With humor. A humanitarian, socially conscious Snow White, gracefully played by Lily Collins. Yes, the daughter of Phil Collins.
The prince? Another highlight of the movie! Played by Armie Hammer (the one who played the twins in The Social Network and nailed it as Leonardo DiCaprio’s lover in J.Edgar. I talked about him a lot here, remember?), who presents us a whole new style. He’s one of Hollywood most promising names for a reason… I loved his prince…
Anyway… I thought it was a cute movie! Beautiful costumes. Nice. The dwarves are played by actual dwarves, actors who add a lot to the movie’s humor. And Julia Roberts is incredible with her particular way of acting… It’s all there. As usual…This time, embodied by an evil queen. Some people love it. Others, not that much… I’m a fan! So I was pretty satisfied…
How about you? Did you see it?
What did you think?
To me, it was a delightful pastime!
