Another Snow White around. This time with Kristen Stewart as the lead.
So I’ll start by talking about her, because, in my (humble!) opinion, she’s the highlight of the movie. This girl has something going on, some charm, or whatever you want to call it, that makes us not want to take our eyes off of her.
I have to admit I was confused at some moments. Twilight came to mind more often than not. It was such a staggering part, and for such a long time, right? She’ll have to work to take this off her back. Also because this is another action, dark movie, where she’s the heroine… So, yeah, I found that confusing at some points. Nothing that compromised her impact in the movie though.
I’m dying to watch On The Road, by Walter Salles. I saw a teaser today and it’s going to be released next week. Everyone says she’s incredible in it. It was screened in Cannes. I got there one day later and missed it. She was amazing at the press material, with blond, short hair. I’m dying to see it!
Beyond Kristen, I found the film pretty cute. Another score was Charlize Theron as the evil witch. I thought she was so deep into it, even if it was a bit of a caricature at some moments. There’s not much to do with that right? It’s the evil witch! I enjoyed it. But the male characters… I don’t know. The huntsman, who has everything in his favor, wasn’t very convincing. Alright, I rooted for him and all, but I could have left the movies feeling crazy about him. And that’s not what happened…
Anyway, a very pleasant pastime. I didn’t get bored at any times, or counting the minutes until the end of the movie. I enjoyed this version much better than the one with Julia Roberts, which I even mentioned here, remember?
It’s worth the tickets, popcorn and time invested. I had a great time!
