The Fault In Our Stars

Another book off of my list!

A bestseller. Trendy. I’ve lost count of how many pictures of it I’ve seen on my friends’ Instagrams.

On the bestsellers shelves on the bookstores. Everywhere. So it raised some expectations, of course.

Easy read. Quick. If you have time in your hands, you can read it in a single day. It took me a week just because I was lazy. And because ditching Grey’s Anatomy for any other activity is really hard. But I finished it today! Found it pretty cute. But no biggie.

Many of you wrote me saying I would love it. That I should get ready to cry my heart out (please don’t kill me! It’s just my personal opinion and taste!).

I love the characters, I thought the end of the book was really poetic, a very thoughtful approach to the subject of terminal diseases during teenage years, with all the ups and downs it entails.

Also, the disease itself is treated as a secondary subject. I really like that. But maybe because there’s some ongoing drama in my beloved show of the moment (again) and one of my favorite characters is also sick with terminal cancer, I’ve already cried my heart out, so I’m kind of immune to it.

Not to mention I lost an uncle and my beloved grandma to this disease. I’ve experienced all that. The hospital coming and going, expectation management, the pain of loss… I know what it’s all about. I deal well with it. If that’s possible…

Cute book. Touching. But between it and my show, I’ll definitely go with the latter!

That’s it! Now all of you who loved the book (I know there are many of you!) can start commenting here to be a better influence than I was to those who haven’t read it!

Your turn!
